Anyone have any experience with it? I just got a new (used) car and activated it for 3 months. I'm only interested in the hands free phone. I don't have a cell phone and the service is cheaper than signing up for a wireless plan and buying a cell phone. I'm just trying it out and wondered if anyone has had or have it, and if it's worth the subscription?
Thanks,
Rick

No opinion on the quality of the service or its value, but it has had some rather troubling privacy issues in the past. If the unit is installed in a car (whether or not a subscription is active) the company can track the location of that car and, potentially, sell the location data to third parties. There is also a possibility (I don't remember if it was ever confirmed) that the company has the ability to eavesdrop on a car's occupants without their knowledge or consent.
Personally, I would look into these issues further before buying a car with Onstar or doing business with the company.
