My main phone ("office number") has been a cell phone for the past couple of years. It's quite convenient in most ways, but if I walk into the theatre basement, the signal disappears.

I just purchased a Zboost YX545 cell signal amplifier. Mounted the antenna beside a window (indoors), ran the cable into the basement and mounted the gadget on the ceiling in the center of the basement.

Man, that thing really works! I now have a stronger cell signal in the basement than I do anywhere else in the building.

Does it also work with 3G and 4G data? Because that's where most of those things that are affordable fail miserably, because of the diversity in spectrum being used. In many cases you can miss it, as WiFi is almost always a better alternative.

The manual doesn't say anything about that, so I assume that means it doesn't work for that purpose.

Doesn't bother me any, though. I have wifi throughout the building; it was just the lack of cell signal that was a problem and is now solved.
