How strangly it is pictured-on the ceiling-Doesn't that look too big for 70MM I had only seen an IMAX film projector once-the one in the Smithsonian Air&space Museum -or is it an illusion the film strip looks larger than normal?--Or is that just what I needed-somewhere in that big walk in closet I have an IMAX projector sitting on the lower shelf!Yah sure.The picture just doesn't look right.

They cut it diagonally. They can die now.

Since straight cut tape splicers won't work through an IMAX projector the normal practice is to cut diagonally across the frame line.

There is also the Zig Zag splicer too. Imagine a 70mm splice that uses just 8mm wide tape! With the zig-zag splice...the film won't hinge...which is key for the IMAX projector.

Interesting to see a Neumade,70mm IMAX splicer with zigzag cutting surfaces.

Comes from the same procedure of seamstresses using zigzag bladed scissors so the cut edges wont fray.
