Larry, Moe and Curly are face-slapping and eye-poking their way to India.

U.S.-based C3 Entertainment’s iconic Vaudeville comedy franchise, “The Three Stooges,” is set to be adapted for Indian television. With a working title of “Three Stooges Bole Toh Hungama Ho Gaya,” the Hindi-language series is being developed by Mumbai-based Galani Entertainments.

A broadcaster has yet to be identified for the show, whose title translates into English as “When You Say ‘The Three Stooges’ You Mean a Laugh Riot.”

Galani Entertainments is linked to Vijay Galani Moviez/Film Folks, whose credits include Salman Khan vehicles “Veer” and “Suryavanshi” and “Ajnabee,” starring Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor. New talent will be cast in the roles of Larry, Moe and Curly.

The original comedy trio featured in some 190 film shorts from 1934 to 1958, with U.S. television syndication beginning thereafter. “The most appealing factor for recreating ‘The Three Stooges’ in India is the universal appeal of the boys’ comedy,” said producer Pratik Vijay Galani of Galani Entertainments.

“This is the perfect time to extend ‘The Three Stooges’ franchise in India to the 1.3 billion population,” said Earl Benjamin, president of C3. Television is the largest component of India’s media and entertainment industry, growing at 8.5% a year and valued at $9 billion.

Separately, C3 is currently developing the family feature “The Three Little Stooges.” Also in the works is a follow-up to the 2012 “The Three Stooges Movie” with Sean Hayes, Chris Diamontopoulos and Will Sasso reprising their roles as Larry, Moe and Curly.

Maybe we've already gone through all the permutations of ideas, but we don't know it yet.

You're wondering why Hollywood keeps reheating the same scripts over and over again? There are simply no more ideas left.

In a parallel universe, probably some time ago, someone discovered a vast hall filled with huge piles of rectangular pieces of paper, bound together to form a whole.

Those neatly ordered piles of papers seemed to contain stories. What was worrisome is that most of them seemed to be original ideas.

Since the amount of stories in one universe exceeded the amount of original ideas in the other, a paradox manifested itself. This paradox destroyed most of both universes.

The remaining universes contained even less original ideas than the one before. Everything in them seemed to run around in circles from now on.

Experts believe we're currently stuck in one of those universes.

Well, I have a clip from a trade magazine from the 1910's complaining that movies have run out of ideas, so I guess we're just in a constant cycle of perfecting them.

And Perfection P is when the Metascore M of Remake or Reboot R meets zero in infinity?

It somehow reminds me of the magic box of Jan Sloot. Which was supposed to be a compression technique in which a movie would fit on an old-school floppy disk. After being rejected by any sane engineer and scientist, he finally found someone who would buy his box for millions of dollars. He died one day before the deal was signed, his "invention" was never recovered.

What it most likely boiled down to is that the only thing you needed was a box that contained all the movies there ever were and your floppy would just contain the unique identifier of that movie.

Sometimes, solutions to difficult problems are just so simple.
