I just walked back from the post office and saw a Brinks truck in front of one of the banks. One guy was beside it on the sidewalk loading a cart and the driver, who is supposed to be maintaining a lookout, was instead kicked back in his seat totally engrossed in playing with his phone.

The loader could be abducted by aliens and the driver wouldn't know anything about it.

An armored company which no longer exists (bought out by a bigger one) used to have both the driver and their sidekick leave the armored van when picking up deposits and delivering change orders. This stopped when they went to a bank in the community of Idalou northeast of Lubbock. Both fellows went in, and when they left the bank the van was gone. The van was later found several miles away emptied of it's contents. A day later, in the Dallas area, a fellow was pulled over because his car had a bad tail light. He was a former employee of that armored car company, and apparently still had some of the banded currency in his possession. The armored company's policy immediately changed after that.
Complacency.
