I measured the 85db with a phone app, so not the most accurate for sure. But on the other hand I did the A alignment properly using 69T to set the preamp volume and 69P to compensate for high frequency. Basically I followed step by step the installation manual.
Considering this is not a professional install I'd go with what you suggest, align everything to, say, 90dB for front speakers and 87dB for surrounds and happy days
