The Spongebob Movie: Search for Squarepants

Spongebob is Spongebob, but one interesting moment in the movie is where they use the old Paramount A Gulf + Western Company logo in the middle of the movie.

But the thing that I wanted to mention here is the attached pre-movie cartoon, which is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles taking on a bad robot who made toys using their characters without their permission. This makes it into a screed in favour of copyright enforcement and against AI instead of a Ninja Turtle story for kids. "AI can only copy things. AI sucks!"

Agree or disagree with the argument, it leads me to question whether ramming it into a kids cartoon is really appropriate.

Kids cartoons these days always have some kind of message rammed into them. It's almost like it's a requirement. If it's not an environmental message, it's "you are special" or "you are powerful" or some other sort of PC stuff. I miss movies where kids just got to enjoy a fun story with some scares or adventures or some thrills followed by a happy ending.
