    IMS3000 notworking

    Hi,
We are facing issue with IMS3000
Issue is IMS3000 is not booting, So we reflash the software but still we could not solve the issue.
then we tried to flash OS through external pen drive to we tried to boot but its not responding.
We tried to clear errors by pressing key but touch pannel is not responding

    Error are
    1) Security manager is not answering
    2)Projector no communication

I had attached some pictures for your reference

It would help you more, if you connected a screen to the "console out" mini display port and see what that shows. Admittedly, mini display ports are not handy, but the info may be crucial.
You write it is not booting, and it seems that it is on stand-by. Yet, could that be a connection or power issue between the IMS and the projector, instead of anything else?

Did you try to reseat the device, before anything else?

The EBUSB boot is for booting through the USB 3.0 port, not for re-flashing the software, and it is supposed to work when the internal SSD is removed.
So, maybe you need to check again your troubleshooting steps.
This time around, I should write that again, it will be best to see what the console output is.

I write that at the end, but I should have written it first thing: Dolby has a support desk that is really helpful and does not require you to pay a subscription, in order to receive their support. Gather all details and steps you went through thus far and contact them: CinemaSupport@dolby.com

The SM LEDs not working is a bad sign. They should be lighting up, with some color. This leads me to believe that security manager is dead (not just a FIPS issue, which would get you a RED LED in multiple positions. You have none lit.

As for communicating with it, you are on the ETH-1 port, which is DHCP, from the factory. The ETH-0 port (top one) comes, factory default, set to 192.168.100.50. Since the SMS LEDs are lit, odds are, something should be talking there.

How exactly did you do this? Where did you find instructions on how do "flash OS through external pen drive"?

Steve is right; No SM leds on is a bad sign, but blue LED's on the raid drives, network port lights, and CPU led's lit are indications that the server has either partially or completely booted. Raid is not initialized until later in the boot process, and is not turned off when the server goes into standby.

There is a knowledge base article that describes a couple different ways to recover the network settings if they have been forgotten.

If you'd like more help from us, we'll need to know exactly what you did with the pen drive to get the server to this state. CinemaSupport@dolby.com will also likely ask for that information if you reach out to them.

Agreed with Steve and Caleb on no SM lights. I've encountered this once before with an IMS3000 (one of the earliest, which I installed in June 2017). The web UI worked, and complained of no connection to the SM. I assumed that the battery had died and it was in FIPS lock (this was in a residence theater and just after covid: the owner went to Florida for several months to escape the draconian California lockdowns, during which time the projector was unpowered), but there were no red lights among the SM indicators: there were no lights at all, even after 10-15 minutes. As soon as I told Dolby that, they immediately responded to the effect that the IMS3000 was completely buggered and that I needed a new one, which was duly ordered.
