FWIW, "Days of Thunder" is also available. We played it back in '98.

Even the prospect of 70mm wouldn't be enough to lure me into sitting through that again. How could the person who wrote Chinatown be responsible for that?!

But Nicole Kidman is in Days of Thunder before she started to look rough.
Its a good ole popcorn movie.
Lots of boom on the 70mm print I bet!

Its also avavilable in the U.K.

From what I can gather the UK has the most 70mm prints available it seems. Shame we havn't got distributors to appreciate what a back catalogue they have got.
And we don't get the re-prints like the US, shame would love to see the new print of Hello Dolly and Sound of Music

OK, maybe it isn't quite as shite as I remember. That memory is probably clouded a bit by Chinatown being one of my favourite films, and wondering just how the same person could have written the script for both of them. He must have been short of money by the late '90s, I guess.

I wonder if the print that had CDS on it, got yanked, striped and sounded in mag, is still extant.

There's a 70mm print of "Cliffhanger" out there as well. We had it a couple years ago so that we could test out our 70mm stuff. At present our mag sound head isn't functioning, but I'm going to try to get it fixed up and hopefully show a couple 70mm films next year. My dream would be to attempt to get ahold of a 70mm print of Kurosawa's "Ran," but I seriously doubt there's one floating around anymore.

The CDS prints had their image offset from center, just like 35mm does due to the optical soundtrack. It could be done, but it would lower the aspect ratio down. Of course since Scissorhands was 1.85, I suppose they could've gotten away with it.
