Ted, softball? I figured y'all would be golf types.Mark, good comment! Just this morning, I was taken on a tour of some imaging sensor testing labs at Marshall Space Flight Center and the control room for one particular array of sensors was amazing! I'd never seen so many monitors and custom-made control panels grouped together before. Seriously, though, I don't think NASA requires any special certification for the PCs they buy, unless they're for a very special purpose. I've done work for NASA as a contractor since 1988. The PCs that people have in their offices are just like PCs anywhere else. By the way, "THX Theatre Alignment Program" can be rearranged to spell "THX Malarrangement Tightrope" , "Halt Next Theatre Programming", "Thong Length Parameter Matrix", or "The Arrogant Exemplar Mightn't".  "THX Certified PC" rearranges to "Predict Tech Fix" or "Chip Defect Trix". Evans

There's another laptop in magnesium case, for military abnd other commercial applications. The mobile phone co. I work for during days tested them, but they were found to be too expensive for field service engineers, so we ended up buying Dell 333 (500)MHz Pentiums, as they made "such an unresistable price offer with 2000+ units"... so it's us field techs having to cope with flimsy cases, constant failiures and "the best warranty in the world". (Next day exchange, with empty harddrive)
Good things exist, but does finally someone order them? And I thought, the best warranty in the world, is the one, you will never have to ask for.
