approach heat. KEN"<< That comment, in respect to this application is indeed silly. Since the IR light is what the solar cell is most sensitive to, less output was needed. Furthermore, less heatsinking was used on the IR systems. While your descriptions of the other uses of the IR system may very well be true, they do not pertain to the reading of optical soundtrack as used in motion picture projection systems.
