Yah... it does seem out of whack, even for Ballantyne machines.

It's also been a long time since I was told that, but the source's experience in the matter seemed very credible to me.

Unfortunately, he's no longer with us, so I can't confirm if maybe a zero got dropped off somewhere.

One guy who would know (he's retired from the Disney EPCOT projection group in Florida) is Robert Ray at Atlas Specialty Lighting in Tampa FL:
