It's definitly wrong to have auditorium faders that keep the absolute levels over multiple shows. Levels should always be reset to a default value after a show. This is an issue with older processors using resistive auditorium fader pots. If an usher dials up or down the volume during his cleaning schedule, it could stay like this for days or weeks. On our system, volume is always reset to the programmed level, and staff can only dial up or down from that setting, and it's reset after every show. And that's not really special, every modern cinema processor and server can do it like this.
