Again you're making an assumption...as usual. In fact I was refering to the Semi Industry as a whole back in the first post about this. How do you think the DMD Division came to be....? It didn't just happen... it took lots of bucks to jump start it. Those bucks didn't come from sales of rear screen consumer TV's that didn't exist back when the original R&D took place... it came from mainly the profits of sales of industrial semis which was funneled in a new department to build the DMD. Even if the DMD does die out there is still another and better pixel-less alternative available thats in fact has already been made to an even higher resolution than the SXRD 4K chips. I have no doubt that technology will continue and that high resolution displays will evolve...but at the moment, the DCinema industry is hanging onto what is starting to look like a dying technology with no immediate suitable alternatives in place. Its called the "Grating Light Valve" and its been around at least as long as the DMD. It would have to evolve a bit for use in D-Cinema bt that wouldn't be too hard. Its just laser driven right now.
