quote: Mark Gulbrandsen Today Salt Lake Police foiled a major theft ring.... they caught a local lady sending stolen goods, VCR,s TV,s cameras, computers, etc to Ghana. I bet they will end up some place like that. The thing that raised the red flag was that she got anywhere from 50 to 75 boxes delivered a day by UPS to her home..... UPS tipped off the cops and they caught her red handed....

When I worked at UPS, they caught a major theft ring that involved an employee. One of the unloaders was coming to work with a pocket full of new address labels. As he unloaded the trucks, he would rip off the old labels and stick on the new one. The new label directed the boxes to a friends house, who then sold the stuff. I guess the driver must have tipped off police for the same reason and they were caught. Not too bad an idea if you really think about it, though they got too greedy and should have had the stuff shipped to someplace besides their home.
