Also, it's beyond me why the wannabe "professional" EE's at ALL of the platter companies cannot make a simple and reliable servo for a simple task like a platter. Probably too much "book learnin'" and not enuff real world experience. Mike Todd felt so strongly that his film OKLAHOMA! was what the public should be concentrating on, that he banned the sale of popcorn and candy at the opening of that landmark film. Would you want to be scoffing down a greasy steak dinner when you are looking at a Monet painting or listening to a symphony at the Philharmonic? Very impressive. The thing that makes me wonder is why so many people feel the need to spill their popcorn and drinks on the floor, leave trash all over the place and even vandalize the seats. They're not going to do that at home unless they suffer some form of severe mental retardation. But they do that when visiting a commercial movie theater. Fucking assholes. There should be an angry policy snipe to discourage the disrespectful habit. What would be even better is to have a 7 foot tall 300 pound, muscle bound usher come over and slap the hell out of those folks when they do it. I swear, some people must play a game where they attempt to toss each kernel into their mouth rather than place it in, and they miss half the time. I agree with Frank though...I wouldn't want to eat dinner while watching a film. A bottomless container of popcorn is also absurdely cheap in movie theater prices. If so, great! It'll be like the one movie theatre where it's true (OK, I know there must be half-a-dozen other dinner theatres out there...). (Since an "unlimited refill" where you have to leave the movie is really no refill at all). EDIT: What I meant, Brad, was that the servers will come to your table and refill your drink without your having to leave, unlike a normal theatre.
