As noted, orientation of new prints often depends on the lab that did the printing and processing. Labs using "loop" type printers usually ship prints heads-out, except for those reels that are chosen for QC inspection. Why does this happen? Chances are that reel 3 was inspected as part of the lab's QC procedures, so it went through a projector or sound reader without rewinding. The reasoning is because it is more important for the print to make it back to the depot and the next theater without damage.  |  IP: Logged
