At one time the US networks all used Simplex XL-modified telecines. All was well. Then came the Ballantyne based telecines. Jitter and ghosting filled the airwaves. 4-5 years later, all was well. I assume they went back to the XLs.

They (Ballantynnes) handle film well, however. Louis
