It took 4 weeks and 3 days to be delivered to me from when the order was placed. Highly reccomended! They are also almost done expanding the plane to 4X it's original size. They will have a capability of 200 to 300 silver screens a month. Best part is the minimal packing fee in a tube as they are directly next door to a cardboard tube factory. They also have cut a flat rate shipping fee (I think with Estes Trucking) to get your screens to you. Severtson claims a minimal hot spot and I have not had the opportunity to measure one yet but I will be doing so in the near future. You can not fold a silver painted screen, it can only be rolled up with protective foam. A screen roll 60 or 70 feet long is too big for normal shipping. It can cross an ocean by ship and be trucked with an oversize load convoy... shipping a folded matte white screen and then painting on site seemed more economical. I'm not sure it was, the rigs were a bugger to move and set up and then there were quite a few failed painting attempts and replacement screens.  |  IP: Logged Jake Spell Master Film Handler Posts: 294 From: Johns Island SC Registered: May 2009 posted 05-11-2010 12:26 PM                     This theater was located right next to the Charleston Port so it way have been shipped via sea. Keep us posted Mark. I just ordered one of their curved screens in Silver but wanted their new micro perf. They are not quit ready yet and do not have any information regarding perf size. For instance Stewart's micro perf the holes are 0.02 inches in diameter, 30,000 per square foot which accounts for about 10 percent of the total surface area. I would note Micro-Perf is a mixed blessing. Remember, more holes, less light. Silver with about a 40 degree curve. Uniformity is darn good. Tell that to MDI. We did the 84X56 foot screen at Zion Canyon when I was at my last place of employment. It was pinted AT MDI and came folded a certain way so it could go inside a crate that would fit inside 52 foot semi trailer. I unfortunately did not see exactly how it was folded before the screen people hung it. I should mention the paint smell was almost overwhelming on a screen that size... Now, is there anyone here that (successfuly) repainted their screens silver? We're considering repainting our original screen, as the price of a new factory-made silver screen is ridiculously high.
