Here's a simple test with this for some that still have "hybrid" operations of both film and digital and with a screen size of over 35ft wide: is to sit dead middle about two rows from the face of the screen, where your seating distance is shorter than the width of the screen and watch both versions of the same movie.

This is where SONY plunged forward with their 4K units so the patron sitting close like that can't tell the difference between the two projected images. Now, DLP has caught up with this resolution war - just to give the same results of presentation to those ones sitting close to the ones sitting far back.
Sure, the pict looks great with 2K digital since we are either standing in the back of the house, upstairs looking out the port window, or sitting in the back third of the auditorium.
But, are these examples fair enough to proclaim that digital is better presentation wise? Don't need to answer this one since it's a personal experience and surroundings can give incorrect answers.
