Depends on the specific idea of a 'show manager'. I mean, if that turns out to be a problem, create your own user without that access level. We have a SONY-R515P. I need a very long (10m/33ft or so) USB 3 cable to make injesting easier. I've tried a Cable Matters active extension cable but a USB thumb drive never mounts. Can anyone recommend a USB 3 cable that works with the SONY? Does that extender you tried use a CAT5/Ethernet cable? These are usually unreliable, unless of high quality (and price). Usually, a simple active USB cable should do the job. These are actually cascaded USB Hubs. That said, a typical USB extension is made by using a simple USB hub every five meters. USB hubs reconstruct USB signals completely. You may also try a USB2 only cable/hub, as USB sticks usually don't deliver USB3 HighSpeed anyway. Why do you need this extension for the USB connection, but not the SATA/CRU port? - Carsten  |  IP: Logged
