My co-worker, who watched the IMAX presentation with me, took his son to see Superman Returns at a DLP presentation the following week. (Carmike's Wynnsong theatre in the north part of Provo.) According to his report, the sound system was out of balance and there was a mysterious, inconsistent light reflection dancing around the screen during half the show. How can a brand new DLP system be out-of-whack? This system was installed only about a month ago!

This friend of mine lives about two blocks from a 16-screen Cinemark which opened only a couple of years ago. He doesn't like to go there because of too many presentation problems in the past... bad picture, analog sound, you-name-it. He's been burned half the time he goes there. To us, there are a lot of "invisible" theatres in Utah: Places which are very convenient and close but places we never even think about when we decide where to see movies.
