Sorry, either I misunderstood you, or you misunderstood me. We only do the midnight show on opening day.

Definitely not worth it after opening day at my theatre.

Agreed. Who in there right mind is going to have a daily midnight show? 12:01 showings should only be for certian highly anticipated films such as StarWars, LOTR and the Matrix sequels, and then only if you have pretty good advertising support (such as a Radio Station). However, that being said, we are not going to have one in this case. LOTR has a Wednesday opening and I don't really see a need to have a Tuesday night 12:01 show. If it was opening on a Friday than that would be a different story. Becides I like having the ability of prescreening the prints before the public sees them.

We are doing the ONE midnight show. I think anyone having a daily show past 9:00 p.m. is crazy. I feel sorry for those who work for companies who dicate their showtimes. I know a guy running a 10:30 p.m. show - I guess he will be taking a nap in his office.........

That guy is me! Our crunchers feel that they will maximize profits if we run a 10:30pm show daily on LOTR 2. I was actually talking more about this timeframe than the daily midnight showing... I re-read my post and realized that I must have been in a foul mood on posting.. [Eek!]

That siad, I understand that in some markets, a later (10pm+) timeframe would do well, yet in others, like mine, it won't do squat after the first day or two. Why corporate decision makers continue to make a blanket policy regarding times is beyond me. You would think that the managers in the field (and I know there are good and bad managers out there) would have a better handle on their populace and its viewing tendencies..... Then again, what do I know? [Roll Eyes]

Reading Cinemas in Manville NJ is booked to open 3 prints of The Two Towers -- 1 print too many IMHO. It has a 12:05 AM show on 12/17 and is promoting it on the roadside marquee where people can see it as they drive by.
