That was just what the patron saw in the auditorium. Remember those theatres ran big stage shows along with their movies during the 30's. In the Bay Area, theatres like the Fox, Golden Gate, Orpheum, Warfield in San Francisco and Paramount & Fox Oakland in Oakland. In the "Training of Theatre Employees for Publix Service" book for the Paramount Publix Theatres Corporation dated 1926. Come to think of it, I watched a movie not too long ago that had a not of "Needle Noise." It was opening day, too, so I don't know HOW they managed to screw up their Vitaphone disc so soon. But they also didn't have a proper musical introduction for the sound shorts either. Come to think of it, the organ player NOR the organ were anywhere to be found!
