As common as the problem of phones-in-theatres is, I'm amazed the companies haven't created a "theatre mode" for phones where it uses gray-text-on-black, or something.

Of course the reason is: They wouldn't make any money on it.

We used to sell cellphones at my day job. When Cellular One was promoting the crap out of their phone games, but the signal in this area sucked, I complained about it to our area rep. I said, why don't they quit screwing around with the games and improve the service? He said, we make a hell of a lot of money on those games. So we stopped selling their stupid phones at the store, and my wife switched carriers. [fu]
