This is a little off topic, but that Rock'n Roller Coaster preshow drives me nuts...not because of anything technical, but it has this one gigantic flaw in it: The "greeter" for the attraction escorts the crowd into the "studio" where Aerosmith are "working" on a song. OK, fine...we all walk into the room, look into the studio and we hear: "Walk This Way."

Now why in the hell would Aerosmith be WORKING ON that ancient song? I mean I love the song, but for Pete's sake..they should have put some other track in there. Something un-heard by the general public. Something that would SOUND NEW.

Sorry, didn't mean to go off on a rant there, but to me that's a major flub in an otherwise awesome attraction.

Disney recently got in bed with Dolby 3D for Star Tours as well as some upcoming new shows.

I think it's kind of cool how Disney doesn't usually always call the 3D glasses by that name. Instead they're something related to the attraction-- like for It's Tough to Be A Bug, they're called "bug eyes." For Mickey's PhilharMagic they're called "Opera Glasses."

Mike,

That is the sort of marketing ideas you get with talented people working for you.

Nothing says you can't do similarly when you screen a 3D film. You will, however, have to be creative in naming the glasses.

Anyone have a clever name for the glasses for Harry Potter?

If they are special for the film you are showing, glasses will less likely leave the theatre since they might not work for any other title.

I dunno... If the glasses are made to seem unique to particular titles, I suspect fans may become inspired to collect them as mementos of all the 3D movies they saw.

I'm still trying to figure out what "Disney Digital 3D" is (as distinguished from other forms of Digital 3D).

...same goes for "Disney DVD."

Why should it be in Film Yak? We're talking about film or digital presentation quality. Isn't the Yak forum setup for off topic discussions? I could have put it in the Film Handler's Forum next to the "Hey you, you SUCK!" thread - but no one in Disney World really handles the film in the normal day-to-day operation, so that didn't seem appropriate. Ground level seems right to me.
