Excellent point!!!! I've been wondering the same for a while. The only time I have ever seen Klingons with Pepto Bismol blood was ST:VI. In TNG and DS9, they had red blood. What's up with that?

There's a few story line problems with Enterprise, that I saw. Beginning with the Enterprise itself. Since it's the first star ship and pre-kirk, shouldn't it look clunkier that the NCC 1701 that we all know and love instead of one that is slicker than TNG's ship. Maybe it should have hub caps or somethin. Also the Klingons in the original trek series looked like humans except they had beards (Scotty called em fuzz faced goons). The lumps and bumps didn't come till after Scotty beamed all the Tribbles over to their engine dept. So why's the first one we ever saw look like Worf? Maybe it's part of the time manipulation thing

One of my problems is with how advanced everything looked. I read some articles about how they were trying to make the sets and technology with a cross between the original series stuff, and the advances made in real time (ie. - we have cell phones smaller than the communicators from TOS, and Palm Pilots smaller than Tricorders etc.) I appreciate what they've done, but I really think we could've gone for a more colorful set and some more tongue-in-cheek cheesiness.

Really -- all I want is a bright orange bridge and velour uniform shirts.

TNG's Enterprise was, by far, the WORST looking ship EVER! It looked like a smooth turd. And the bridge was just too loungey. And what the hell was Troi ever doing on the bridge anyway? She's a counselor.

Voyager has the best looking bridge... it looks like a starship bridge.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with Joe. TNG had the best ship. As far as Troi on the bridge, I totally agree.

As an full blooded American Male, I had no problem with Counselor Troi being ANYWHERE on the ship. Nudge Nudge

If it weren't so politically incorrect, I'd love to see variations on the Star Trek theme.

How about ideas for an Amish Enterprise?

Instead of communicators, there would be a big bell.
The phasers would be hand cranked.
The ship would be powered by horses in space suits.
Hmmm. This is beginning to sound more and more like Battlestar Gallactica.

A Redneck Enterprise?
The Enterprise would look like a giant pickup truck towing a doublewide.
Shotguns would be allowed onboard for hunting tribbles.
Kirk repeatedly would show the "Pull my finger" trick to unsuspecting aliens.
The mission statement would be "To boldly git and find new wrestlers for the WWF."
Blood wine would be replaced with Billy Beer laced with moonshine.
Q's part would be replaced by Buford T. Pusser.
The outside of the Enterprise would be primer grey.
The bridge of the Enterprise would be John Deere green.
The PA system on the Enterprise would have been made up from Eprad drive-in speakers.
The theme song would be "Dueling Banjos" followed by a Hank Williams medley.
The different warp speeds would be engaged from the bridge by using an advanced version of "The Clapper."

Well the reason for how all the Klingons look is easy. They just didn't have the makeup budget when TOS came out for them to look much different than humans. Obviously that changed when the movies came out. So you are just suppose to pretend that Klingons had always look as they do now even when they didn't.

That's not a very fun explanation. True, but not very fun.

No, the NCC-1701 and NCC-1701-A from the movies was, by far, the best looking Enterprise. TNG looks like an aerodynamic minivan or something.

I feel like such a damn geek arguing about Star Trek of all things!

Joe, you're entitled to your opinion. I'm just stating mine. I do think Enterprise A was aweseome, but the original kinda sucked. I suppose that's just because of the way TV was back in the 60's, with limited budgets and technology. Personally, I really like the smooth luxury look of Enterprise D.

As far as the Klingons, I would agree with Michael, if it weren't for the DS9 episode Trials and Tribbleations. If you saw it, you probably know what I'm talking about. For those of you who haven't, here it is, breifly. The crew of the Defiant went back in time to Kirk's time. It happened to be the day Trouble With Tribbles took place. Until they could figure out how to get back to the 24th century, the dressed like the crew of the original Enterprise, and blended. When they saw the Klingons, one of the crew asked Worf why they looked so different. His reply was something to the effect of it's a long story and we don't discuss it with outsiders. That implies that the Klingons did, in fact, actually look different in TOS than in the movies TNG. That really pissed me off, because until that episode I did just dismiss it as lack of budget for makeup.

Ken, I agree about the TV series Enterprise. I'm talking about the NCC-1701 that was in the movies. It is supposedly the same ship as the TV series, just retrofitted like mad. Enterprise A was exactly like the refitted original ship. Excelsior looked pretty cool as well. In fact, just about all of the ships designed for the movies have looked awesome... especially the Klingon Bird o' Prey. I don't remember what the Enterprise E looks like though. TNG movies seemed pretty boring and I quickly forgot them.

You are indeed entitled to your own opinions, just as long as they agree with mine.
