At least one of Brad's examples "*****, Booby, I'm your white night," is a unique enough film quote that it will jar anyone's memory who has seen it already.

For instance, maybe it has to be some sort of turning point in the film, or something so memorable that it made the whole world laugh for a minute or two.

Credit to john though, I do remember the night shift qoute, NOW, that he said it was night shift. I just watched that movie not three months ago and I kept thinking it was kevin spacey in big kahuna. BUT I DONT GUESS..... I KNOW....

as for the new one thats there, I can count about thirty movies given the time where a qoute nearly as close was used, but I know I know the movie it came from, and I know it cannot be that obscure.

Exactly. I myself had no idea what that was from. But I do remember other quotes from movies within the alotted time frame of 1980 onwards.

It's just what you know...you may not, but someone else probably will.

If no-one gets today's, I'll move forward into the years or post something like 'How can I be the One? I work in a pizza parlour!' to give someone else a go.

No offense taken here, but it's not really my fault if others don't know it...is it? They have to be from major release movies (tick) since 1980 (tick).

By the way John, that "boobie" quote was from a little known film called "Die Hard". If I had've put the character's name "Hans" instead of a blank, that would have given it away almost immediately.

I quote many lines out of NIGHT SHIFT...a great Ron Howard movie, in my opinion. It was also a Dolby Stereo film when they weren't more than 20% of all features. It also pretty much launched Michael Keaton's career.

Staying alive is a film that I also know just because I ran it (in 70mm no less).

Night Shift is also a favourite of mine. If there was ever a career launched by an entrance into a film, it would be singled out as Keaton's entrance into the morgue 'singing' Jumpin' Jack Flash. I have been hoping now that it is on DVD that Warners would re-release the CD soundtrack but nothing yet. I LOVE Rod Stewart's (original, folks) version of That's What Friends Are For in the credits. I could never understand why they never released it as a single...then years later they did, but with Dionne Warwick and friends and it stayed at number one for what seemed like months. I have a great LPP on 16mm...I should crank that boy up again soon.

BTW, I'm glad my Romancing The Stone quote was picked so fast by Dave. I switched everything off and went to bed then while I was lying there I remembered it wasn't a bus station he was going to take her to, it was a telephone.

What would happen in instances such as those, Brad?

Although, I got the qoute as Romancing the Stone is one of my all time favorite films.

Brad? People are starting to put all kinds of things in addition to the qoute post. Shouldn't we stick to just the answer and the new qoute? I thought that was the intention of it. Plus, what about giving it it's own forum, making it easier to identify when members log on?

But really, spelling is not a deal breaker in the rules, either in qoute or answer. In fact, the qoute doesn't even have to be exact. JUst really damn close.
