Clinton's affair didn't bother me in the least. Most men have an affair at some time or other weather they want to admit it or not. But what bothered me about Clinton was that anything else he did was pretty darn stupid, and usually he did nothing about anything at all. Gore only magnified that at times and lately is magnifing himself to a new level of how really stupid he is. Take the news conference he held a couple of weeks ago that I heard it live on the radio. Man, he obviously didn't have a clue as to what he was saying about Iraq. Even the radio commentators were laughing at his speech. He has no access to high level intelligence anymore, how could he have known anything. Again he was just babbling at the mouth as usual. What he sort of implied though was lets wait and see if they attack us before we attack them. Ok, Hey, lets loose another 3000 or 5000 Americans just to be sure on this first. What a dork! Gord, I always thought Trudeau was a rather amusing personality!! Mark

If you want to claim victory in this discussion then so be it. I realize that there are differences to opinions from one person to another and mine wont be swayed as yours wont be swayed so what’s the point of discussing it further. I joined this forum for information and guidance in my Hobby of film collecting, not to get into a debate, which could jeopardize my standing with my fellow collectors and related. And to the folks who might be offended by the "RAGHEAD" description then I apologize. When I say RAGHEAD I was really referring to the Whacked out Extremist who thinks that we are the Evil Nation and should be destroyed. I take full responsibility for what I say and do on these forums and I could debate this stuff all night. So in that I respectfully decline from this discussion for the sake of good relations. To Brad, maybe the policy on these forums may be altered to the fact that political and religious discussions should not be placed here.

Actually, Bin Liner's economic links to Saudi Arabia have started surfacing in the last day or two: in particular, this story raises the issue of why the US Government does not seem to be prioritising the Saudi end as a means to disabling Al Queda.IMHO it is necessary to separate George W's motives in this from the likely outcome of Iraq - or any other country controlled by Islamic extremists - getting its hands on WMDs. During the Cold War the principle of Mutally Assured Destruction ensured that no-one nuked each other. The logic was simple: we don't want to die, we know that if we nuke the other side then they'll nuke (ergo kill) us, therefore we keep our fingers off the button. With Islamic extremism none of this applies, because the principle of 'we don't want to die' isn't there. They practice religious beliefs which condone - and in some cases even require - observers to kill other people and themselves in certain circumstances. So if they have WMDs, no rational argument is going to prevent them from being used. The only thing that will is the certainty that they will be prevented from achieving their objectives. Nobody wants a war for the sake of it, but what is the lesser evil - making a stand now or waking up one day and finding that Sharia law has been imposed in York? BTW, Michael's comparison with WWII is an interesting one - during the mid-30s Churchill was portrayed as an unintelligent and reactionary right-wing extremist by his political opponents (largely as a result of his support for rearmament), just as George W. is now.
