Kinoton will also be showing items from their studio and special venue lines in addition to the regular cinema fare. This is the largest show for our industry...it is no Photokina or NAB but will keep you occupied with a wealth products shipped in Globally. Lauderdale, FL, USA Registered: Jun 2001 posted 03-03-2003 09:37 AM                     Kinoton FP-25 D and E projectors will be in operation at the main theatre in the Paris Hotel during the convention. This site will also feature the demostration of the new 2K Texas Instrument chip projector ( vs 1280 ) which was first shown two weeks ago in Los Angeles. The digital head is much smaller than the existing DLP units. They will, at one point, be projecting split screen between film and the new TI projector. I saw the rehearsal from the booth and on the floor on Saturday and even through the new projector was not showing all available pixels, the improvement was obvious. This should be an interesting show.....Kinoton is operating a much larger exhibit showing cinema, studio, special venue film projection equipment and a new display product for lobby / mall advertising. On the show floor, Strong will debuting their new projector...Christie has a stripped down movie projector called the X-35....Ultra- stereo has a new monitor to compete with the QSC monitor system and a video analzer for video and digital projector set up...several Chinese manufacturers will be displaying their projection,seating and sound equipment, Barco has a smaller Digital Cinema projector for screens 33 feet ( 10 meters ) and under...new models of amplifiers for cinemas from Crown/JBL.So get on your walking shoes and look, learn, and buy Richard Fowler Kinoton America Inc.  |  IP: Logged Daryl C. Dwayne has been taking lots of pictures and I have been doing "ShoWest booth video tours", rolling a few minutes at each of the major booths. I ran into John twice. The first time was right after the Finding Nemo screening and the second time was today at the trade show next to the Paramount booth. My wife and I talked with him for a few minutes before moving on to the free samples and snacks. He of course was full of information as usual and was shilling Kodak. Can't blame him...Kodak is good stuff. I have also ran into... Ian, Steve G., Oscar and I saw Josh with his spiked hair wandering around. Did Michael Schaffer come roaring 'cross the desert From LA in a souped-up Maybach? Richard Fowler and others gave us a list of the new hardware on exhibit, and I guess we'll be seeing lots of photos, but is anyone taking pics of the wining and dining? Like tantalizing close-ups of seafood platters, Brad's thick steaks and Argentine grilles, and all the beverages? Those confined to back-home booths with a thermos and cold sandwich relish the thought. Here's a virtual toast with my favorite brew from St. James Gate, Dublin.
