All AMC theaters will be about $30. I hope the Arclight doesn't finalize that price. The price was finalized at $40. The original plan they had was $100, but they would provide lunch and dinner for you. they have reserve seating there, so you don't have to worry about losing your seat. I checked out the theater today (Scarface). I was in the Dome, which is a big 816 (I think) seat theater (the other 14 theaters were added later). The seats in the Dome are not as comfortable as the other screens, but the presentation was good (although the screen had more curve than I like. My only other choice is The Block, which has nice big cushy AMC seats, but I have heard bad things about the presentation there. That, and I would have to camp out the night before to get a good seat, and have somebody hold on to it between movies. Normally, I wouldn't care much about the seats, as I am way more in favor of good picture and sound, but with a Marathon lasting roughly 10.5 hours of actual movie, those big seats seem like a good idea. I think I will make my butt suffer, and get tickets for the Arclight Dome, for the reserved seating. I was the first in line, of the people who camped out in front of the Arclight. I still didn't get the seats I wanted, because the manager didn't open the doors until about 30 seconds after the Internet started selling, and they started taking calls. I am guessing it was the Internet that beat me to it, as everybody with a cell phone in line, was calling the theater, trying to jam up the lines. I got there at about 8:30pm the night before, but we really didn't start to form a line until 1:00am. I am really glad I brought a lawn chair The Dome at the Arclight has 827 seats, and it sold out in about a half hour. It would have been faster if the Internet didn't slow to a crawl. I am closer to the screen than I wanted, but I still got great seats. If that's still not enough seats, let's get with the phone company and hang some rollers on the telephone polls and run it through all 20 at the other theater in Plano too. They could have EASILY sold twice as many seats. Tickets are going for sale on eBay for $250 a ticket in some cases (it's tempting to auction mine as well). I should have bought at least one more ticket, just to sell, which would cover my costs. The theater I am watching it in has 827 seats, and they could have easily interlocked it to their 2 big houses outside the Dome (416 seats a piece), and sold those out as well, had New Line allowed it. The booths are too far away. Anyway, congratulations on winning those tickets. I am sure it will be a great experience. I didn't hear any echo when I saw Scarface the other day. Dome The Dome’s unique size, shape and history both require and allow some interesting technical differences from the newer ArcLight cinemas. Kinoton projectors, JBL speakers and Dolby and SDDS sound systems are used as they are in the multiplex. But the Dome is also equipped with a different model projector (FP75E) plus DTS 6-channel sound allowing 70mm films to be screened. The Dome sound system has been further upgraded with 44 computer-placed surround speakers (where there were previously 8) and the acoustics have been completely redeveloped, including the installation of sound absorbent materials in each of the hexagonal and pentagonal panels in the ceiling.  |  IP: Logged Michael Swarbrick Film Handler Posts: 23 From: London, England Registered: Jan 2002 posted 10-13-2003 10:25 AM                     Does anyone know if the "Marathon" will be happening in the UK?
