I think T-Rex stands for: Totally Ridiculous EXpansion or something. No matter where you go in this country you run into the SAME problem. Just about every person has to have a least one vehicle. Let's face it..there's just too many damn people being pumped into the world with no place to keep them all. And these folks just "have to have a car". And what was said above is very true about Phoenix. Just ONE HUGE PARKING LOT from midnight to midnight! Of course we only have about one hundred car dealers here. We're BIG TIME, now. On 21'st and Marshall, you will find two taverns and St. Mary's Church. That's only two blocks from where I lived as a teen-ager. It still has not changed. One block East, you'll find a couple of gasoline stations. Ah, YES!!! "Manitowoc has it all..." I've seen potholes that approach the size of the Grand Canyon right in the middle of interstates. For truckers it is especially screwed...there are very few roads that allow trucks either around or in DC. As such, those that do (like US-50) are packed with them. I-95 doesn't go through DC so you have to use I-495 to go around it...on the east side...the hoity toities didn't want that big ol nasty road so it isn't exactly a circle through Montgomery County and hence it has the lion's share of the wrecks on the "beltway." DC road crews are the slowest and typify the stereotype of one guy working with five or more standing around...if they start a project it will take forever and they only work during the normal work day to maximize congestion....in the suburbs, roadwork is mostly done at night when traffic is at its least amount. One thing about DC is you either can deal with circles or your can't...if you can't please don't drive here. They are everywhere and those that can't drive them really endanger everyone else. However, Vegas sucks more and it is not due to the number of drivers on the road. It is due to the number of f'ing mouth breathers with California tags that have to slow down to about 15-20 slower than the speed limit. I was raised in the DC METRO area and I am used to f'ed up traffic, but Vegas seems to attract idiots with cars here. It is as if the Stratasphere is the world's largest moron magnet and it attracts every loser with an IQ lower than a llama in to the area. I swear I can give some of them 2 more IQ points and they could bark. I am not going to give examples because Brad would probably come down on me for eating up bandwidth and hard drive space. Everybody just image every idiot move that you have seen on the road and combine with everyone elses sightings then mutliply it by some ridiculously large number and you will get a portion of what some jackass has done on our roads here. AS I stated above, they usually have Cali tags. They must be the rejects that they have thrown out becuase I have never seen that in the LA area. More lanes are needed, at least triple the amount. I couldn't understand it. And when I can't understand something, I begin to get angry. I notice that many people driving in Colorado with California plates seem to be dumbasses as well. What's up with that? Note to Californians: STOP MOVING TO COLORADO! YOU ARE NOT WANTED NOR NEEDED HERE! YOU ARE ONLY DRIVING UP THE COST OF LIVING! They've been "widening" I-65 for like 9 years now. They're are permanent "temporary" baricades along side the entire thing. Half of the exit's are detoured forever, the lanes are about half of normal size, with an above-average rate of semi-trucks hogging up space. I addition to this, everybody has too much money and for some reason they refuse to spend it on repairing TURN SIGNALS. Unless everyone in Nashville has those new high tech invisible turn signals that only the mentally retarded can sense. That must be it. Still nothing to the DC Metro area, but it's still one of the more frustrating experiences I've ever had....aside from driving through small towns full of old blind people that didn't even take a drivers test. Years ago, you could buy a license for a dollar and be done with it. Ah, the golden years...  |  IP: Logged
