The Horizon, pure shit. Right now Im paying close to $4500 for insurance and my record is clean. I miss her. Oh so fast, 5 speed manual, and T-Tops. If only I had a decent job then to afford the repairs. I'll have her back one of these days. 1995 Honda Civic DX-Ran great, insanely good gas mileage, but not a feature in sight. I didn't even have power steering on this puppy. Got rear ended by a truck and she died. It was a blessing! 1998 Dodge Neon R/t- Red, with a silver stripe, and a 5 speed. I really like this car, and it has ran great for me for nearly 3 years. Found out the other day the engine is burning oil. May get it fixed or just get something new. I've been checking out the VW Jetta, and so far I like it. Thoughts? My first year's insurance cost me UK£450 (around $700 I'd guess), which was for a 1981 Ford Fiesta. That figure went steadily down until I changed the car for a 1991 Fiat Tempra in 1999. My first year's insurance on the Fiat was around £250, and has been going up ever since, despite the fact that I'm accumulating another year's no-claims with each renewal. The explanation I'm hearing for this is that an industry compensation scheme for the victims of uninsured drivers is responsible. If so, this means that responsible drivers are in effect subsidising the criminals, which cannot be right. (Plus a bunch of company cars for a while) Some good, some bad, some excellent. I mean seriously people, c'mon! You are either buying a ton of unreliable cars and fail to learn, or you feel the need for more than one car at a time (why?). Bobby (I think it was Bobby) was saying on another thread on how everyone in America just HAS to have their own car vs using public transportation. '85 Chrystler 5th Avenue ~white. boy, did I hate that land yacht, but it was free... '89 Mercury Cougar ~blue. not bad, got rear-ended in a slush storm, got a check from the company who's employee hit it with a company truck '93 Subaru Legacy, AWD Wagon ~maroon. cost $2000, paid for by the check mentioned above. Had problems with the all wheel drive, caught the rear axle on fire! No serious damage or injury at least. Nickname: Scooby-Doo '85 Chevy Citation II ~gold. free. Formerly my brother's car, he acquired it for $1, that's right, a buck, from a friend that was buying a new car. Looks horrible, runs OK, AM radio only, and that doesn't even work. Nickname: Man-whore All automatic transmission. In theory, I can drive a manual transmission vehicle, but then again, in theory, I could take over the world and make Joe Redifer my butler. Six cars, I've had my license for a bit over seven years now (11/19/96) - could be better, could be worse. My favorites would have to be the Volvo, and the Subaru. The Volvo had about 260000 miles on it when it was retired, and was at a point where I had to put oil in it everytime I put fuel in it. All the same, it handled better than anything else I've driven - even new wheels on test drives. The Subaru is just a cool car - love the sunroof / moonroof it has, decent gas mileage, working radio & tape player, heat works, ac works, great in the snow - I miss it. But there is hope! My dad says he's no mechanic, only a parts changer, and he's been tinkering with it to solve the AWD problem it had. Good City Car. 5th Car 1970 VW Super Beatle - Great in the City. 6th Car 1972 Mercedes Benz 220SL - Great Car Kept til 1983. 7th Car 1978 Oldsmobile Delta 88 - Good car. 9th Car 1981 Dotsun Wagon 10th Car 1984 Olsmoblie Cutlass Supreme - Good car 11th Car 1986 Ford Escort - Caught fire on Cross Bronx Expressway with only 2500 miles on engine. 12th Car 1986 Honda - Great car. 13th Car 1988 Chevy (Don't remember model Number) Good car. 14th Car 1991 Volvo - Good car. 15th Car 1997 Car Dodge Intrepid - Good Car 16th Car 2002 Car BMW 328i - Good car.
