It might not feel so good if you were doing it professionally. Just ask Phil.

Based on Steve's constant referrals to me, I guess he "thinks" he knows "me" and/or about what I do in life, or he's in love with me and in the closet. I'm NOT willing to bet on which option is most likely.

Much to his disappointment, I have to put an end to his constant drooling about all the fun things in life whether it be me or the work I do.

The ONLY thing I do "professionally" in that particular line of "work" is produce, direct, and film/tape.

I know he will be disappointed... but Hey! It pays very, very, VERY well and allows me much free time as well as the resources to do things I enjoy without some asshole boss yapping at me.

Is it just me, or is Phil trying to project a slightly less wild'n'crazy image lately?

I guess it's because he's a mod now. [Big Grin]

Most of you guys are insensitive assholes, that doesn't surprise me though considering how you're all men. [Wink] That girl was obviously good enough for Richard when he was horny...and so what if her mom has diabetes??? What does that have to do with anything?

It's all good and easy to down on someone after you had sex with them but you were the one that was that DESPERATE to do it in the first place...

I actually did her to try to get higher in the company since her mom was the GM. Ironically enough, I got fired soon after I stopped doing her.

Steve's comment reminds me of an observation on living life that I happen to agree with very much. From The Notebooks of Lazarus Long, a pair of "intermissions" within Robert Heinlein's 1973 classic Time Enough for Love:
quote:
A whore should be judged by the same criteria as other professionals offering services for pay -- such as dentists, lawyers, hairdressers, physicians, plumbers, etc. Is she professionally competent? Does she give good measure? Is she honest with her clients?

It is possible that the percentage of honest and competent whores is higher than that of plumbers and much higher than that of lawyers. And enormously higher than that of professors.

I think the problem we have with prostitution stems from a number of old-fashioned "values" that some of us still cling to, whether we realize it or not:

1. It was believed that women weren't supposed to work for a living in the first place.

2. Women were considered "ruined" if they had lost their virginity prior to marriage.

3. Women were not supposed to "enjoy" sex. Rather, it was considered a "marital duty."

Hence, prostitution flies in the face of all of these ideals.

A fourth presumption is that sex is always fun and that there is never any compromise involved. This is clearly a lie. We have sex for all sorts of reasons apart from how much "fun" it can sometimes be.

And then there's that wonderful notion that sex should only happen when two people are "in love."

Or, my personal favorite, "sex is for procreation only."

Yeah. Right. Whatever.

The reality is that we have all kinds of practical uses for sex...

A lot of guys go out and look for sex because they're angry or frustrated and "need to vent." Or they're trying to "keep their numbers up" in order to maintain a reputation as a stud. Maybe they're sleeping with tons of women in an all-out bid to prove that they're not gay.

Some women have more sex than they'd ordinarily care for because they fear their husband might start roaming if they ever refused. Or, maybe they're making an all-out bid for the Hawaiian vacation this year. Many an orgasm has been faked for a worthy cause.

So we can see that our decisions to have sex can be -- and quite often are -- motivated by factors outside of love and/or hormonal activity. Sometimes we use sex to get at its byproducts. In the case of prostitution, the byproduct is money.

That's where "the hand test" idea can be a good thing. Besides, usually the joke is on the one with seemingly low standards, not the one he boinked.

Maybe I'm a little old fashioned, but I'm not going to sleep with a woman unless I would be willing to have a relationship with her (as well as be seen in public together). The tables of sexual power are turned where I live (since there are a lot more men than women here). So the once in awhile encounters I get are one time events typically by the lady's choice.

Lots of people are just weak, and to be pretty hard about it, moral cowards. Rather than tough it out alone, they'll string someone along with a series of encounters even though they don't care about that person. More harmful are those relationships made out of convenience. One of my best female friends is in a dead end relationship with a guy keeping his exit path open. It's obvious he's just using her for physical release until something "better" comes along.

I tend to agree with Rachel here. The girl and/or her mom may well have been fat and skanky but the inference that she was skanky because she was fat is a bit unfair. If overweight is unattractive to you that's fine and you'll have millions of others agreeing with you. But how about putting it in the same perspective as not caring for red hair etc.?

Phil: You're the star of many jokes around here, not just mine. But thanks for singling me out for a special reply. Sorry but you'll have to remain unrequited.

Geez, Richard. It appears that your 'plan' backfired and you were the one who was screwed.

I guess in the business world today it's not what you know but who you know .
