All Disney park workers have been Cast Members since the beginning of time (AFAIK). We are an old fashioned theatre so we still call ours "concessionaires." Or if being informal, "crew members." It's crazy to call everyone a specialist. The only position re-naming that i've ever agreed with was Harkin's renaming Assistant Managers to simply "managers". That way there were fewer customers that could say, "well, I see that you're just an assistant, can I talk to a real manager?" Plus, it looks like I got a promotion when It came time to fill out resumes again! -Adam edit to respond to mike: I always thought of 'concessionaires' as a company hired to provide food services for a larger venue, like at a stadium or in a National Park. According to my dictionary: concession is: 4.a. The privilege of maintaining a subsidiary business within certain premises. b. The space allotted for such a business. I've never looked that up before. Does the term still apply when the 'stand' is owned and opperated by the same company as the 'parent premises'? I am now a Guest Service Representative at Hollywood Video in Brandon, FL. I start my orientation with a 4 hour training session at a larger store on Saturday. I am getting a WONDERFUL $6.00/hr and have to memorize some mission statement by Saturday. At least I'm not jobless anymore and I still get to work with movies. I know that the cost of living there is a lot lower than it is here in London, but that rate of pay still seems very low, but at least you have a job, and that's good. Hope there are prospects for promotion within the organisation. All the best. What exactly does a 'Guest Service Representative' do? A few months ago I got given a new job title; actually a new job, they deleted my old post, and appointed me to a newly created one. I'm now a 'Network analyst'. I don't know why, I don't analyse networks. As far as I'm concerned, I'm still an I.T. Technician, as I have been for the past fifteen years.
