I used to only go to the doctor when I was sick or pretty injured. Now I have to go anually for a check up. I gave my father a kidney last month and I need to catch things early if I have any problems.

I always tell the doc, I used to be sexually active until we got married. Now I'm lucky to serve my one weekend a month and never get my two weeks a year. I joined the sexual reserves. [Razz]

That's kinda sad. I'd do it everyday if I was married. [Big Grin] [Wink] I'm not one of those chicks how makes their man suffer for weeks on end to prove some stupid point. We are just as aroused or even more so than guys.
Keep in mind that I'd definitely workout to keep in shape just to make my man happy. [Cool]
If we fought that day... it still wouldn't get in the way. Making up makes it the best part. [sex]

You clearly need to seek another doctor! This one is totally incompetent! I base that on the fact he obviously failed the class on "Conducting A Thorough Examination Of Sweet Young Thang's"
Well, you also have to remember my mom was in the room... so he couldn't "examine" me that way. It would be really uncomfortable for anyone in that room.

Ron, I'm 19... My mom and I were both being examined that day. So we went in together to get it done quicker. There was only one Dr. working. Everyone else were nurses.

Jenn,

Actually my sex life isn't bad at all. I just answer the doc that way. It's sort of the thing to joke about when your married. Besides no matter how often [sex] happens, it's never enough. [thumbsup] I must admit, two young children does hinder frequency, but they are definately worth it.

My health insurance deductable has ballooned from $500 to $2500 in the last four years, while our company's rates have tripled regardless of the more expensive deductable. I expect we'll probably not have health insurance coverage by this time next year.

Needless to say, I visit the doctor as little as possible. My "insurance" doesn't pay for shit when it comes to things like preventative health care. It seems like the hospitals want everyone to have serious medical events that way the patient can go broke and the hospital can seize the patient's house and other assets. Gotta pay for that Mercedes one way or another.

At this rate, it won't be long before the only people in America with health coverage will be certain hospital employees and people living on native American reservations. Oh, let's not forget about illegal aliens.

I think I would be happier if we had a single payer "nationalized health insurance" system. What good is having a so-called state of the art, privatized system with great equipment if you can't afford any access to it? The saying around here is "that's about as useless as tits on a bull." And we really don't have a privatized system either. Every hospital is sucking big time on that government tit. Honestly, we do have "socialized medicine" since a giant amount of our tax dollars go to it. You just don't get much, if any, coverage from your tax dollars. Sounds kind of like taxation without represenation.

Right now, trial lawyers, drug companies, insurance companies, hospital corporations, etc. are all in their pissing contest on whose to blame for skyrocketing costs of health care. Yet they're all giving themselves yearly pay raises of 10% to 30%. It would be really funny for them to try that stunt with no government funding. I wish I could give myself a 30% pay raise every year. But you can't do that when you work in a small business that truly operates in the private sector and lives/dies based on what happens in the marketplace.

This situation clearly cannot sustain itself; the math doesn't add it up for it to do so. IMHO, this medical situation is the most serious issue this country faces, not the war on terror. I have a much better chance of getting murdered by one of my fellow Americans than I do a radical Muslim fundamentalist terrorist.

My mom was sick actually. She got me up early yesterday so I could take her to the Dr... I got kinda worried, I knew she was going to be ok. It was just that she could have asked my brother to take her. Everytime I'm alone with my mom I'm always afraid of those mother daughter talks. I hate those.

I have only been to the doctor once since I got my booster shots at 12 years old. I get colds every so often but never any thing worse. I always stick it out, unless I think it is something serious. A few months ago I realized that I had several signs for prostate cancer so I decided to go. He told me that my prostate was enlarged but to just jerk off several times a day. This was on a saturday, he wanted me to come back again to take a blood sample and test it but I had jsut paid $160 for him to tell me to beat off more and there was no way I was going to pay that again jsut because he couldn't do the blood work on a saturday.

Personally, I think people go to the doctor too much. I think your body will heal most anything and those people to freak out over every sneeze take too much medicine and weaken their immune systems.
