Outside of the theatre, I work for a Property Management Company. We specialize in Homeowner Association Management, including COA'S, POA'S, and HOA's. This is turning into a second career, one that, more likely than not, provide to be more rewarding, both personally and financially, than the current theatre scene.
In addition to the above, I also do contract driving for promotional events for the development company my wife is employed by.
I also attempted to accept a position assembling standees for all local theatres, including my own, for a company out of California, but quickly realized that this simply was not feasible given my already tight schedule.
I also make a very decent attempt to be an ass whenever I can..

Well, I just landed another job at another movie theatre *subrun*, and I am going to be a projectionist. But outside of the theatre, I do Vacation Sales to Orlando over the phone. It's an hourly wage (min wage) or commision, and it's easy to get commision. If I just make 6 sales a week, a sale a day, I get commision, and it works out to more than the hourly minimum wage. I don't really like it, but the pay is good, and I don't have to deal with the customers face to face in sales. I can deal with customers face to face in the theatre, cause I'm not selling anything, they know what they want to buy, so with that said, I leave you all to your reading of everyone's posts.

I teach band and orchestra, 5-8th grade. My current load is two periods 6th grade band, 5th grade woodwinds, 7th grade band, 8th grade strings, and 7/8 jazz band (7:00 AM every morning!) I'm also the assistant director for the High School marching band; my forum picture is me standing on a ladder in front of the band at a football game.
Projection is just a hobby; the college film society I project for only does two nights a week, and although I'm usually there every night, the actual duties get split up among the 5 or so projectionists.
Still, it's great fun.
