It's probably not the tallest or largest cathedral in the World, but being surrounded by densely packed buildings less than a tenth of its height certainly makes it look dramatic: even more so given that most of the building in its current form went up between 1080 and 1115. I live about 300 yards from it and that building is always the first thing you see after stepping out of the front door, even in dense fog or rain.
