Spielberg is way overdo. "War of the Worlds" may be the big hit of the summer. I'm looking forward to seing the trailer tomorrow.

The fact that there are no other releases presently scheduled for the 4th of July weekend indicates that nobody wants to go up against it.

But... I've been wrong before.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (November 18).

Seriously. That's about it.

I'm HOPING for a few pleasant surprises, maybe Batman, maybe Bewitched, maybe Sin City. But in looking through the list of releases for this year, and based on what I've seen so far, I may see fewer movies this year than any year since 1998.

They're remaking "Fun with Dick and Jane"?!? SERIOUSLY. What's up with that.

Bewitched is going to suck because Nicole Kidman's nose twitch is not real, it's annoying. And they'll probably have her twitching through the whole movie, where in the TV show Sam would only twitch a couple of times in an episode.

Sin City looks interesting, but it could be quite the suckfest. I'll watch Episode III just so I can say I watched the entire series, but it will probably have way too much cgi to entertain me.

Sadly there really isn't ANYTHING that I've seen a trailer for that even gives the illusion of being good! And no way in hell will I be anywhere near a theater during June 22-23rd. Do you have any idea what is happening on those days? I'll give you three hints:

*Bewitched
*Dukes of Hazzard movie
*Herbie: Fully Loaded

I mean DAMN that week is going to be downright horrific!!!! [puke]

Lucas was saying on 60 minutes or some crap show like that... that it's a tear jerker. I think he's looking for some way to get the Academy to recognize his writing or some dumb poop like that. I'll wait for this one to come out on DVD... As I sit through ALL the episodes just to torture myself for no reason whatsoever. [Frown]

Sin City looks sweet from the trailers. The whole B&W contrast with a touch of bright color is a cool effect.

I think everything looks like crap. Cinderella Man looks good and so does Love Song for Bobby Long. I went to the screening for Stealth at ShoWest, friggin' horrible.

I have to say that the movie that I am waiting for to come out is SWE3. I want to see the final installment in the theatre, just to say that I've seen them all, and that's it really. I already know what's going to happen, Anikin is going to get laid with someone, he's going to turn completely evil, and by the end of the movie, the dark side is going to rule the universe. It's the same thing, but in reverse of SWE6.

I have to say that I was waiting for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to come out, thinking that Johnny Depp was going to do an Excellent job, but from just watching one of the trailers, It's not going to match the original, and from that, anyone having seen the orginal is going to be very disappointed.

Flightplan looks good. Normally this is the kind of movie I'd have doubts about, but Jodie Foster could save it.
