I have a feeling CARS will be really good. I hear the sound in it is fantastic.
I'm looking forward to Ice Age 2, Snakes on a Plane, Superman Returns, DaVinci Code, and Monster House.
Poseidon looks good. I'm in favor of any big special-efx-driven movie from the 70s getting remade, as long as they do a good job on it. Bring on "Towering Inferno!"
Pirates 2 from a "butts in the seats" perspective.
Click looks like it'll be funny for Sandler fans.
M:I:III should be OK if Tom Cruise hasn't sabotaged his career with his goofy antics over the last year.
Lady in the Water looks intriguing but I haven't really liked much M.Night stuff since "Sixth Sense."
Over the Hedge should be OK.
XMen 3, Fast & Furious 3, Garfield 2, Fantastic Four II, Basic Instict 2, Scary Movie 4 are the ones I don't give two shits about. All sequels, go figure.

Movies I'm looking forward to see during Spring/Summer 2006:
Superman Returns
Bryan Singer gave up the X-Men franchise to do this one.
Cars
This is really the only 3D animated movie I absolutely intend to see. I might check out Ice Age II since it will be playing during a period where theaters are normally in the doldrums for content. I may only see other animated movies like Over the Hedge, The Wild or Monster House when they appear on DVD or cable.
X-Men III: The Last Stand
Sure, it's numbered like a sequel. But any comic book effort is more a series or saga. This one is supposed to be based on the Phoenix/Mutant Wars period of the X-Men comic book series -originally published back in the late 1970s. And that's when the X-Men comic book was at its best, both in terms of art quality and writing with guys like John Byrne and Chris Claremont working on it. If the movie is faithful to the comic series storyline the movie should be pretty cool. I'm just hoping Bryan Singer's departure doesn't torpedo the quality.
A Scanner Darkly
I'm not expecting this movie to be great (but hoping it will be pretty good at least). My main attraction to this movie is Richard Linklater's use of vector-based auto-tracing and "tweening" to create a unique real-but-not-real looking kind of a movie. Is it animation? Is it real? The effect is interesting enough that Charles Schwab is copying it in their commercials.
Mission: Impossible III
Maybe. If the reviews are good. MI:2 really sucked. If this new installment is more like the first, then great. I'm hoping for the "Con Air Effect" (Nick Cage wins an Oscar then has a cool action film come out). Hope the same occurs for Phillip Seymour Hoffman, recent Oscar winner and villain in this movie.
Oh, and there's that Pirates sequel thing. Maybe. The sophmore jinx looms. I think Disney caught "lightning in a bottle" with Pirates of the Carribean. Not sure they can repeat that success twice.
Some results from 2005: (for those who care to look back on previous predictions).
Batman Begins didn't turn out to be as big a pop-cultural powerhouse as Tim Burton's version, even though it really was a better movie. In fact, Rotten Tomatoes scored Batman Begins as the best reviewed action movie of 2005. Burton's own Charlie and the Chocolate Factory left me with a so so reaction.
Kingdom of Heaven was not a huge hit. For some reason it's still getting numerous DVD releases (a new 4-disc version is on the way). Hey, Ridley? When are you ever going get a respectable version of Bladerunner made for DVD?
Sin City was pretty cool.
The 40 Year Old Virgin was the best comedy of 2005. Wedding Crashers was another big comedy hit.
Wallace & Grommit: The Curse of the Ware Rabbit won an Oscar and was one of the top scorers at Rotten Tomatoes website too.
Rent sucked. Most people didn't get Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy so it came and went in a flash. Cinderella Man was very well reviewed, but looked really drab and depressing in its trailers, so audiences didn't show up for it.
Narnia played to me kind of like a "diet version" of Lord of the Rings. Good show, but not great. The latest Harry Potter installment was pretty good. But a bit dark. Still, the series of movies has been pretty consistent in delivering good quality.
King Kong was a decent movie with some really cool action set pieces. Too bad it spent so much time getting going in the beginning. It's funny some consider it a disappointment since it didn't gross $600 million like Titanic

War of the Worlds had its moments. But it was disappointing compared to other recent Spielberg efforts like Minority Report. Tom Cruise jumping on the couch at the Oprah! show and ranting about the horrors of psychiatrists certainly didn't help. The latest thing is this rumor of him threatening Viacom with not doing any publicity work for Mission: Impossible III unless Viacom blocked their Comedy Central channel from showing a certain episode of South Park. Viacom caved. Issac Hayes (also a scientologist) quit South Park. So the show killed off "Chef" and turned him into "Darth Chef."

Bewitched wound up sucking for a lot more reasons than that. In fact, just about every one of the installments of TV-show-turned-movie wound up sucking ass. For some insane reason, Hollywood is making even more of them! More sequels! More remakes! If we throw enough shit at the wall, eventually one turd is going to stick!!

It may have been said before, but hey, I am looking forward to Logan's Run NOT getting made... AGAIN!!!
The production offices have now been assumed by the Speed Racer movie, and the Logan's Run project has been shelved, again, indefinately.
I really had been hoping that someone could actually make the book into a movie, not like the movie that had the basic elements but strayed so far off that it wasn't even similar. If you have ever read the book and seen the movie from the seventies, you know what I am talking about.
Oh hollywood, they have no will or spine.
