Where does Guinness Stout fall into...Dark Beer? That's the only beer I drink. Otherwise it's Heineken or Becks for me.

The thing that REALLY PISSES me off in restraunts is when I order a beer (especially good imported German or English) and the stupid bartender takes the "liberty" of putting unwanted lime in it! I always send it back, requesting a new bottle and telling the waitperson to have the bartender serve it CORRECTLY!

BTW...I'm suprised that any of our ex-Navy members have not mentioned good ole "Torpedo Juice"!

Well, there's an easy test ... if you can see through it, it's light. If you can't see through it, it's not light.

Guinness Stout is a damn fine beer, though.

Guinness is nice, although a bit heavy after a few. Just out of interest I hope it is served properly where you are? After working in a bar in Ireland, there is as much pride in 'Guinness done right' as there is in 'Film done right'!

For the record, I drink Stella Artois, reassuringly expensive.

I do not doubt that! I have known for quite a while that I'll have NO way of knowing until I actually take a trip to Ireland and taste it for myself, whether or not it's served properly. And until then, I must go on "knowing" that it's served wrong. After all, the only way I can get the Stout is in a bottle. [Roll Eyes]

And I have a strong feeling that the Draught is served much more chilled than it should be, and in a frosted glass, too, for that matter (in some places, anyway). Guinness Done Wrong, I'm sure. [Razz]

It's pretty dark. But if it were any thicker it could be classified as a pudding!

I believe that stout is typically an ale where as beer is usually a lager
