The Munich Technical Museum in the late 1980's had a full scale switch exchange displaying these mechanical beasts in operation.

General Telephone in Tampa, Florida, in the early 1970's, had a VIP media theater in which all operations where controlled by a program that used these switches to run the show. The system was enclosed in a glassed encased room that you passed by while exiting the auditorium....it was part of the "can do" thinking of the phone company during that period. Our present telephone supplier, "can do" to them means I climb the pole to do the repairs to our office [Roll Eyes]

My other favorite thing was to weasel my way into the local drive-in booth... Gawd! What fun in a more innocent time.

And how many members on this board got their start that way?

FWIW, that's where I discovered that the lamphouse cooling line discharges provided the continual flush for the men's room trough.

sssssteamy!

This is a picture of our back yard from yesterday morning. We have only lived here for just over a year now. All the woods are on our property and during the summer they provide lots of privacy. Plus we hang our hammock out there whenever we get a chance, which is basically never.... [Razz] Maybe when we retire we will have time. [thumbsup]

Ya know, I just noticed my "new" ID pic too. It sorta looks like Bob Maar in Drag. Over the last 5+ years I've been here, I've had NO control as to what our Grand-Poo-BAH decides to bless me with for my ID pics. I don't even have any idea where he gets them from.

The ONLY thing I wish for is to have access to ***HIS*** ID pic file so as to post such things as this:
