The "Religion Free" machine reminds me of something I came across a number of years ago.

Through some Title I or II programs, the government was providing Apple IIe (I said it was a number of years ago!) to religious schools. But, it was illegal to run any "religious" software on those machines because of the federal money. So, they installed a modified ROM chip in the machine (The Apple IIe ROM was very well documented) which looked for a specific signature on the software provided with the system. So, only those provided titles would run on that machine. Anything else would just freeze during boot.

So, they really were "religion free".

Adam, about 10 years ago when I was 27 and trying to get my GED, my math teacher was Tony Pythagorean and he made me memorize that as a 3-4-5 right triangle.

So, while what he said may have been true in the past, I doubt that his assumption would hold up with the "new math" being taught now-a-days.
