Simple images of a person's face typically "read" a lot better. quote: Joe Redifer That looks a lot worse than nearest neighbor resampling. It almost looks like undersampling. Notice how all of the pixels aren't even the same shape. I don't think I could create an image that bad if I tried! After looking at the photo Kyle posted a little more closely, it looks like it has been re-sampled numerous times. There's multiple levels of blocking artifacts with varying levels of coarseness present. I also wonder if the image wasn't lifted from a video source. Perhaps all the rectangular blocking and other stuff was a result of up-res and down-res stunts to get rid of interlacing saw-tooth effects.  |  IP: Logged Claude S. It might just add a pixel here and there when increasing the size.
