I will always root for them when they play the Yankees, but not so much anymore because the "underdog" mystique is gone. Also, when I go to Rangers games now the Sox fans are just as arrogant as the Yankee fans. Since they didn't announce the problem until early afternoon and didn't come up with an alternative until 8 PM last night, hundreds of thousands Rockie fans were chained to their computers most of the day hoping to get a few of the 18,000 available tickets per game for the three games to be played in Denver. And yes, I'm a fan who will be trying to get a couple of those 54,000 available tkts when they go on sale online today at noon. Regardless of how much the above teams suck, I will always be a lifelong fan. I just hate the Red Sox and root for whoever they are playing against. Very similar to my hatred for the Yankees, and the New England Patriots, New York Jets, New York Mets, New York Giants, and pretty much any team that calls New York or the New England area their home. I wonder if the parties involved in the crash-inducing hack were Internet-based ticket scalping companies. Those "brokers" use unique software that allows them to virtually "cut in line" and buy out huge numbers of tickets before real customers can buy any. They're doing a wonderful job of poisoning the market for a lot of concert events. Back to topic, my parents were telling me a number of the Colorado Rockies players were brought up from the Colorado Springs Sky Sox earlier this year. My parents live in the Colorado Springs area and watch those games on a regular basis. I'm happy to see the Rockies in the World Series, and I'm rooting for them to win the whole thing. It usually seems more exciting to see a team who has never been to the World Series get there and even win the title. Both the team and crowds appreciate it more. When the Yankees win another pennant, it's like "who gives a shit?" New Yorkers are used to it and some even feel entitled to the team winning the World Series frequently. OTOH, it was a pretty big deal back in 1986 when the Mets won (since the Mets don't get there very often). But I was pissed the Houston Astros didn't make it.  |  IP: Logged William T.
