I'm firmly in the pie camp on this one. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I play for the other team, especially for a tasty carrot cake, but afterward, I always come home to sweet sweet cherry and rhubarb pie. Unfortunately, I've been in quite a drought recently due to the lack of high quality pies that I've had the opportunity to take home with me. I have pretty high standards, but it often seems to me that all the best pies are taken. Everyone still MUST reply. I forgot to mention that icing can make or break a cake. If a cake has awesome (and appropriate) icing, I absolutely love it, but that seems so rare these days. I guess I am not eating the right cakes.
