Just look at the pictures...everyone seems bored in Brad's....while Joe seems rather excited and happy to see movies in his room. His screen also formats 4:3 correctly and seems to make Scope even wider (or less tall). Clearly features that Brad's room seem incapable of (based on photo evidence). I also don't see how Brad's room can compare to Joe's sonically either. Nope, sorry guys...Brad's room is clearly a poor-man's attempt at trying to approach Joe's level but so poorly executed that there is virtually no resemblance. I played little league baseball and I like to play sports sometimes, but I cannot stand to watch it or discuss it. When we get together my wife talks with his wife and he and I don't talk. He just watches a game on TV which is an insult because he can't even tear him self away when they have people over to visit. He figured out early on that I don't give a rip about sports so he doesn't even try to hold a conversation with me anymore. At least I have tried to talk about sports to try and meet him on his level. I guess this is a sore spot for me. I don't really care what someone enjoys nor do I fault them for it. If their hobby makes them happy, great! I have become jaded about sports because I have been in so many situations where the other guys are talking sports and if you don't know about sports, then you are basically on the outside. In these cases, I usually can't even keep up with their conversations nor do I care to try. I usually end up talking with the ladies since at least they can talk about plenty of other topics. It just annoys me that many guys can't even carry on a conversation if it doesn't include some player's stats. It used to make me wonder what was wrong with me or made me feel like less of a man. It's good to know there are others out there like me. I seem to know a lot of guys that neglect their wives and families for sports and video games. I like to play video games but I grow tired of them pretty quickly. I haven't bought a new video game system since the Sega Genesis because I don't want to get sucked into it since I already have plenty of other things competing for my time. I think my wife is also scared that I will be like so many of the other guys that we know that become mesmerized by their video games and have no idea what is going on around them as life passes them by. My 21 month old son has loved basketball since he was able to crawl. He has several hoops around the house and he shoots all day long. We thought it might be a phase but our pediatrician (who is a self proclaimed nerd and has been on CNN and written several books about raising children, which I only bring up to establish his credibility and experience) is fascinated by Will's basketball obsession. He said he has never seen that in a child before and is interested to see how it plays out. My wife played college basketball but neither of us ever pushed it on our son. He played with a basketball at someone's house and he was hooked after that. We cannot even go to Sam's Club or Dick's Sporting Goods because if he sees the basketball hoops sticking up ten aisles over, he runs straight for them and throws a fit if we try to pull him away. I asked my wife to buy me a "Basketball for Dummies" book for Christmas. I guess I will need to find some level of sports knowledge that I am comfortable with so I can support my son in his interests when he gets older. My dad is like me and has no interest in sports. We are both mechanical fix it type of guys. He gets it from His lovely mother. If He's blessed with your height & Her skill sets Imagine the $$$$ you're going to save come college time. Can you say "Full Athletic Scholarship"?? Encourage & nurture it. At least in Joe's screening room you'd be leaving after the film with your haircut still intact! Josh, I with you and Brad! I like sports but hate watching it on TV. I do watch the occasional golf tournament... perhaps two or three a year, but thats it. TV Sports is a total waste of time. I didn't even watch the Stupid Bowl nor do I care who won. My wife and I went to her daughters where they could also give a crap about sports on TV and we enjoyed a great dinner and Birthday party. Her daughter and boyfriend don't even own a tv.
