It's probably too late for you. You could always go online and spread bad stuff about this chinese company.

What's paypal's guarantee on this? Did you contact paypal? And why haven't you contacted the credit card you used to register for paypal?

It's not UPS's problem that the chinese seller lied about the value. THey paid the amount and they are done with it. The only person who owes you is the seller, not UPS.

Or you could pay me 1 MILLION bucks. I can go off them for you. That will teach them a lesson.

I bought an item from this guy
Which is it? If it's a company, you may be able to get it worked out. If it's an individual, good luck finding him. Was it being shipped from China?

Do you have the address or phone number from where it was coming from?

So did you try going the route of calling up the CC company to deny the charge? Don't just assume that because it happened a while ago that they won't help you. Plus, if you provide the info that the shipper was reimbursed by UPS the CC company may be more likely to help you out, since it looks good for them to help a customer that got screwed.

Yes it was a company. Paypal is linked to my bank account, not CC. The bank said they can't do anything. Also, as some of you know, UPS will not give any info to anyone but the seller. I have no proof, other than what the company told me.

Is the seller from the States or China and where was it shipped from? If it was sent from China, I know a few people there that would probably make a few calls if I asked them nice enough [Smile]

The carrier have admitted responsibility, and paid compensation.

The seller was wrong to declare the wrong value; was it an error, or did they assume that you wanted a lower value declared (or did you ask them to do this as some people do)?

Your claim would be against the seller, but if they don't want to know then I doubt there's a great deal you can do, unless you fancy taking a claim through the Chinese legal system; I've no idea what that would involve, or cost.

I've bought a couple of things from sellers in China and had good service, and no problems, but they have only been for small amounts; I accept that there is a risk, and don't do it for more than I can afford to lose if things go wrong. I've made quite a lot of transactions with the US, and had a couple of problems; in one case the item didn't arrive, and the seller didn't want to know; they said they had sent it. The other case was quite an expensive item, a couple of hundred Dollars I think. It didn't arrive, and the seller couldn't be contacted. This was an Ebay item and some time later he was no longer registered with Ebay. I heard from another source, that the seller, who had a good reputation, had been taken very seriously ill, and I suspect that he had died, so I decided not to take the matter any further.

It sounds like your only chance is to file a complaint with Pay Pal.

Msy we ask whst you purchased (at least the category, if not specific item)? Then again, keep your privacy in case you ordered a mail order bride. OK i keed.
At the very least, Paypal can blackball this seller so he wont scam others.

As it has been made obvious by now, paypal is your only resort at this point. Tip: never buy anything from China without a credit card unless you have personal connections over there.

again...what company? One of my best friends is Chinese and works for an import/export company in Changchun. He may be able to help put some pressure on the company in China you bought them from.

Richard May, I direct your attention to THIS THREAD and suggest that you give the information needed to help you before this thread ends up like that thread? (Things go south around post #10) [Roll Eyes]

Richard Hamilton, deja vu here, eh? [Smile]

There is nothing more frustrating than someone asking for help, then not answering simple questions or providing the details necessary to help out.

Don't force Brad to make a rule regarding "help" threads!!

At the very least put the name of the company in the "Deadbeats in The Industry" thread.....

This seems strange that UPS have paid compensation to what would appear to be the wrong person. You paid for the item and the seller sent it, so why did they get the $40 and not you?

It's your item that they lost, not the sellers.
