Because he didn't pay UPS. He paid a guy who paid UPS. UPS pays back the person who paid them.

There is nothing more frustrating than someone asking for help, then not answering simple questions or providing the details necessary to help out.
Tony, or people that ask for help, get technical responses from very qualified people on this site, and then don't ever post the outcome or a thanks.

First of all guys, I DO appreciate the help from everyone here and I have said that in the past. I am not by my computer that much to get back to all the questions in a timely matter. I'm not looking to play 20 questions here either. I thought I had given enough information to get an answer to my original question.

Richard M, our frustration stems from the fact that it took 21(!) posts to even find out what it was you ordered, you have yet to tell us WHO the company is, and several other questions throughout the thread have been ignored. I'm sure any time lag between posts is understood by all as we can't all sit in front of a computer 24/7. [Smile]

If you want help you MUST be willing to give out the information needed or requested. [Mad]

The company name would be handy, not for bashing them, but perhaps someone here has dealt with that company before (Richard Hamilton for example) and can provide you with a contact to resolve your problem. If you won't say who it is then don't expect any more help on this or a resolution.

Maybe Brad should make a rule regarding these kinds of threads..since this is the second time in recent history that someone has not been candid enough to let people help them.

In summary to anyone wanting help in the future, IF you are NOT willing to provide answers to ALL reasonable questions in order to help you, DON'T even bother starting a thread!!

Sheesh.

Oh well,
My offer to help is off the table now. Too bad, I have many friends thru out China who may have been able to help. At least I always got a "happy ending" for my 600 bucks [Smile]

Me too. I am tired of trying to help people anymore when all I get for my efforts is static and stonewalling.

Give me a break guys. I thought I was specific enough but I guess not. All I needed to know was what agency I could contact to complain to. The companies name is Smart Go in China. I don't think Brad needs to make any new rules. We have enough already.

RIchard may, I am not trying to pile on the bashing. But as I alluded to earlier, there were questions like "did you complain to paypal" or "did you complain to credit card" or "if you did, what did they say" and it took a few responses from you to get an answer to those questions. If you reread the thread, you will know what everyone was frustrated with. I dont think we still know how paypal denied you any action on the seller. And it took a while to get any info on credit card stuff. It doesn't mean you are a jerk or something. But it is obvious you were on a different wavelength from the people responding.

Your best bet is to take Richard up on his offer. The only real place to complain is at the local chinese police station and in the chinese language. This will create real results. It can however be done through an agent.

There are plenty of chinese businesses that scam, give false tracking numbers and some even force you to order and pay for more items to actually recieve the original goods ordered. The other popular thing is to increase the shipping fee and keep the difference. This is a form of non taxable income in both China and Russia.

On the other hand there are plenty of businesses operating honestly and are looking for return trade.

I just thought there would be some kind of better business bureau or something like that to complain to.

But the seller paid with money they were paid by the buyer.

Still don't get why UPS would compensate the seller (who no longer owns the item), instead of the buyer.

UPS only deals with the seller because the seller is the one who hired them to deliver it. It sucks but that's the way it is.

BACP is an official UPS shipper. The default insurance amount on items we ship is $100 at no charge. On international shipments I need to declare a value and provide a customs invoice that also calls out the value. If it's less than $100 that becomes the value for insurance; if it's over $100 than you have the option to take more insurance in $100 increments for I believe .35 per $100.00

This info is for next time.

The better way to put this is: UPS deals with the person who initiated the shipment into their system. It just makes more sense that way. Can you imagine the chaos if UPS dealt with complaints from, for example, the customers of Amazon.com rather than dealing with Amazon itself?

OK, you guys got me nervous. I ordered $5800.00 worth of parts that were shipped direct from the factory from Omaha to an amusement park in China. I called FedEx and they said if something happens I could make a claim, it has the customs value on the forms. I still have a MediaMatrix system and TC generator sitting at home that I need to send, along with another $6 or $7 grand of parts that are back-ordered.(not paid for until I know they are in stock, and verified!)
