USA TODAY had reported this morning, Apple's plan to release a mini version of their very popular iPad in October to compete with Amazon's Kindle Fire and Google's new Nexus 7 tablets. Apple with 62.5 of the world wide tablet market feel it is important to compete in the mini tablet business with a model featuring a 7.85 inch screen. The current iPads has a screen measuring 9.7 inch. The Kindle Fire is #2 in the tablet market and the unit retails for $199.00. Apple's version is expected to to be $299.00, a hundred dollars more that the Kindle Fire. Unlike the new iPad that was recently introduced, the iPad mini is not expected to feature the same high definition screen the larger tablet has but I am sure it will be included in future versions of the smaller iPad.

Mike I bet you are right. I have resisted the urge to have bigger and better with cell phones and such. I don't have a pad of any kind but do have two laptops and two computers. I use them all the time. I use to be a technology whore and have to have every gadget.

I remember in the mid to late 90's while working for the State Dept. Of Vo-tech as a training coordinator I had a little electronic Rolodex. One day my supervisor asked for a phone number. I began to try to open my electronic gizmo. Lo and behold the batteries were dead. I looked confused while my supervisor reached in to my inside coat pocket pulling out my address book handing it to me he said, "Out of here will work."
